Patriotism

Patriotism is the love and devotion one provides for their country, the commitment and sacrifice one gives to its country. Patriotism is what holds our nation together. It is the bread in PB and J, the grapes in wine, and the lettuce in a salad. What would we do without patriotism?

Some people wonder if patriotism still matters. But not me, I know Patriotism still matters. If we didn’t have patriots our world would be a different place. We wouldn’t have a safe community like we do now. Just think about it, because of patriots constantly fighting in combat, our nation is protected. Now attempt to imagine if   there were not any soldiers fighting to keep us safe, everything would be different. Everyone’s social and active parts of their life would not be the same. The public will not be able to go out and hang with their friends and family. No one of us will have vacations or breaks from the everyday. Kids wouldn’t have their sports that keep them healthy, and fit. Research also shows that being in sports and/or involved in some kind of activity helps not only keep them happy but is a great reliever of stress or anything that is going on in their life. So if that active life disappears, kids and even adults will be extremely stressed and feel overloaded with work they are required to do. Now do you understand that patriotism does matter and is extremely important to our environment?

There are many different kinds of patriots. Most people think that patriots are only people that serve our country by fighting for our rights and freedom. However that’s not all, the definition of patriots proves that soldiers aren’t the only people that can be considered “Patriots.” Technically anyone that helps country/world, or the people of a nation, is considered a patriot. The only people that are not patriots are the ones that do bad things that cause people trouble. These are the ones that don’t do one thing to help others at all.
You might not know it but you are most likely a patriot too. As long as you contribute to your community, and do your part in this world, you are a patriot along with everyone else who does their part. Now I hope you realized patriotism is very important, and won’t question it’s abilities from this day forward.
